Eager for Summer

I am ready for summer to be here so that I can ride my horse to beautiful places such as this. This photo is of Lindsey near Virginia Lakes, CA. We went for a ride to find a old sheep barn and the feeling I had that day was calm and clear. I hope this photo puts out that feeling.

Sloan Lake after a storm

I headed out this afternoon to capture moments of people shoveling their side walks as it was snowing, a lot. But about five minutes into my walk the sky started to show its self through the clouds. So, there went my hopes of capturing a people in a blizzard. Sloan Lake is near my neighborhood and so are the geese. I have never been into bird watching or taking photos of birds but I found some peace watching them and had nothing else to do.

Red Rock Park, CO

Living in Colorado is something I have wanted to do for a long time, and now I’m here. I am not as close to the mountains as I thought I would be but it is convenient to be living in Denver without a car. The Red Rock Park is a beautiful place close to where I live. Walking around the park you might notice at ever turn there is a completely different view of the ship like rocks. Offering a photographer lots of view points and angles to play with. I look forward to going there again.

Midnight

I have been going out in the middle of the night while the moon is bright to get some photos with a look and style that I love. It is a challenge in so many ways due to many different things. The moon is only bright for about a week out of each month and in that week the weather is not always great and other things come into play. After a full moon it seems that the moon comes out about an hour later every night. While hiking is wonderful, the final destination for the photo op is not always what I think its going to be or as fantastic as i hoped. With the bad comes the good. It seems to be taking a while to get a good collection of night images but i enjoy every step i make. I hope you enjoy these

Night Photography of the Potato Fire

Here is a composite image of the hills next to the Potato fire northwest of Bodie, CA. After a couple days of amazing lightning storms a couple fires started, creating long lines of smoke in the sky and a orange moon.

Secret Garden

A Day in Yosemite Valley

Old house

While at a branding on the Seronie Ranch I snooped around the ranch and found a really cool old house with items still collection dust from generations and generations ago. Mike and his brother are the 5th generation on the ranch that started with sheep and now have a operation with cattle and horses. I can’t wait to go back and take more photos while Mike tells me more about his family history on the ranch in NV and the items around.

Minden Ranch Rodeo and the broncs. It was pretty cool to be so close to the broncos and not knowing if the horse is going to jump the fence that separates me from it. It was just as fun as shooting the PBR.

A day at the Merced River

The day at the river was amazing! the weather was perfect and the people were friends. I met two amazing little girls, Aurora and Elizabeth, who are so much like me when I was their age and like me in ways that I am today. We bonded instantly and made a friendship connection fast than you can blink. Children are amazing!

most images are little detail, my favorite thing to shoot at this time of out day at the Merced River
